Mama Mia! The Newport Hostel is currently running on all cylinders for the rest of the summer!
My mom, Randi, invaded Chicago with a couple of her closest gals the first week of June. They got the hook up from a coworker to stay in some terrific modern hotel rooms at The James on Rush and Ontario!
They arrived Tuesday, departed Saturday and in between took a whirled wind tour of the city. They hit The Shed Aquarium, The Alder Planetarium, The Field Museum, Navy Pier, Pizzeria DUE, Garrett's Popcorn, Macy's on State Street (at least the bathroom), an architectural boat tour, The Tall Ship (their pirate show?), The 96th floor of the John Hancock Building, The Art Institute, Millennium Park, Blues on Halsted, and Greektown. Wow that's exhausting to write!
Here are a few pictures I got while they were here.
Outside the Field Museum, looking over the city.
Mom and me in front of Sue, the T-REX!
Big Ray at Blues on Halsted.
Donna and Evelyn at Blues with some cocktails!
Dinner at Dublin's on Rush Street. The night "Don" bought all our meals!
Walking Legs on the best day while they were in town! Look at those blue skies!
The ladies showed up on Thursday night to cook dinner. Chicken Picata, Orzo, Asparagus, and some great desserts!
Evelyn dishing out dessert, Strawberry Tirimisu Cones! Yum!
